Get to Know the Artist
Artist Bob Rice has always enjoyed creating beautiful works of art. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Landscape Architecture and following that worked as a ceramic artist from 1978 to 1982. In 1982, he cofounded Design Direct Sound (DDS), where he built speakers for popular recording artists and films, including Star Wars.
While glassblowing was always a hobby, it wasn't until 2011 when Bob founded BRG that it progressed into something more serious. Since then, he has created many stunning and unique pieces of hand-blown glass garden art for customers. Using the ancient Phoenician style of glassblowing, Bob creates sculptures that feature various colors, such as those from Germany, resulting in some of the most beautiful pieces of art. So far, the most rewarding part of his business has been designing and inventing new and original glass creations for customers and having them admire and appreciate his work.
